Violins

Collin and his friend Kenzie played their violin/viola at Kenzie's Dad's wedding this weekend.  They are so cute- and very serious about music.

Thanksgiving 2011

 Quinn came home with this cute pilgrim hat from preschool.

 Thayne rented a log splitter for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  The boys enjoyed helping stack the wood under the deck.  Collin was a really great help and it was a perfect day to do this job.  Thayne woke up Thursday morning with lots of back pain though!

November 2011

 Hannah was able to be in this musical and had such a fun time!  These are her best friends.

My Dancer

Hannah is taking dance classes at a little place two blocks from our house.  She is really enjoying it and dances all over the house.  She bought this tutu with some of her birthday money.

Halloween

 We finally got around to carving pumpkins about 6:30 on Halloween night!  The kids enjoyed it as usual.

 I took the kids trick-or-treating this year and let them go and go..till 9:00.  I had to call Thayne to come pick up Quinn because his legs were really tired :)

He decorated his own cake :)  His baptism won't be until October 30th so it will be a little while yet till I post pictures of that event.

General Conference

Hannah is getting ready to sing for General Conference.  It has been an exciting time for her! 

School Begins 2011

 Ok I will update everyone a little on each of the children.  Collin is starting 8th grade..middle grade of three at his school..Orion Jr. High.  His most favorite class is Orchestra in which he plays the violin.  He really loves it.  Maybe he will be a music teacher someday?  He is settling in very well and is staying organized so far.  I am very proud of the progress he has made since last year.  Huge improvements here!!  He is also really looking forward to the school musical in the Spring.  He can't wait to try out :)

 Hannah is starting 5th grade and is getting so grown up!  She is getting her own sense of style :)  I am glad she still lets me do her hair but I am sure it's coming to an end soon.  She is really into singing and joined the school choir this morning.  It is a before school choir twice a week.  They will be singing at Weber High "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat" in November.  Also, watch for her to sing in the children's choir on Saturday General Conference afternoon session.  Exciting times!

 Simon is starting 2nd grade and loves school.  He is missing his two front teeth and loves to take a peanut butter sandwich to school almost every day.  He is a great reader but I still can't find any chapter books that he loves.  I will keep searching.  My kids are picky book readers :(  Simon will turn 8 in a few weeks and has already started attending scouts on Wednesdays.

Our little Quinny started preschool today.  I feel so sad!  I can't believe it.  He is growing up.  I think the teacher was a little mad at me for forgetting his school issued book bag...I forgot and sent this little backpack.  Oh well.  This is one strict preschool but I chose it because we can walk the 2.5 blocks.  Quinn is very independent and adventurous.  He loves to play with all the kids in the neighborhood.

And here we are at the "B".  I didn't actually hike up on the "B".  It was pretty steep, rocky and hot.

Simon took this picture from the "B".  Most of us are sitting in the shade just below the "B".  And by the way there is LOTS of poison ivy up there!  I am glad that Grandpa showed it to us so that we were safe.

Happy 13th Collin!

He opened his presents at 7:00 in the morning right after scripture study.  He got a full size violin!  I really hope he continues in his interest to play it!

 He made and decorated his own brownies for his birthday.

Getting ready for preschool

Quinn has spent the summer doing a preschool workbook to prepare for school in the fall.  He was holding the kitty while coloring in his book.  I couldn't get him to pick his crayon back up for the picture.

Tea Party

Hannah wanted to have an old fashioned tea party this summer.  We finally had it on July 25th.  She invited five friends and they enjoyed some fun snacks in the backyard. 

 We made some little sandwiches, crackers with cream cheese and cucumber, mini cupcakes and pink lemonade. 

After about 40 minutes we had to move the party indoors.  The wind began blowing and apricots and bugs started falling from the tree :)

Tie Dye

We made tie dye t-shirts for our family campout and they were really fun to make!

Raptor's Baseball Game

 This is the best picture I could get.  Simon got to stand by the umpires and the catcher during the National Anthem before the baseball game started.  Pretty fun stuff!!

 The kids had so much fun floating around in the lake.  It was cold and the adults never even put a toe in!  The kids sure enjoyed it though.
